HAILEY BASSETT BASKETBALL TRAINING
ABOUT ME
From the courts of Layton High School to international arenas, my basketball journey has been fueled by an unwavering love for the game. As a young girl, I discovered a passion for basketball that would shape my life in incredible ways.
Growing up, I was fortunate to have a guiding light—my grandfather, affectionately known as "Papa." He saw in me a future that I was only beginning to imagine. My grandfather dreamed of me playing Division I basketball, a vision he held close to his heart. Tragically, he passed away before he could witness that dream become reality.
With Papa's belief in my potential as my driving force, I seized every opportunity to improve. From the moment I stepped onto the court at Layton High School, that dream was my inspiration. Winning the Utah 5A state championship during my senior year was not just a victory for my team; it was a tribute to the unwavering support my grandfather had given me.
At Utah State University, I left my mark with 126 career games played, 1,174 points scored, and 105 career blocked shots. But my journey extended beyond college as I embraced the international stage, playing for Mark Basketball in Sweden. Every step I took was a tribute to Papa's belief in me—a belief that continues to shape my dedication to the sport.
Now based in Centerville, UT, my purpose is to inspire and mentor the youth of Davis County. Through coaching and sharing my experiences, I aim to be the kind of guiding presence that Papa was for me—an unwavering source of belief and support for young athletes with dreams of their own.
Beyond the court, I've embraced life's personal milestones. In February 2022, I married Ty Shaw, a fellow Utah State athlete, and the joy of parenthood followed in April with the arrival of our son, Taze.
